About Responsible Marketing Consulting & Website Design Services

Just because you operate a business in a small town like Plattsburgh, NY doesn’t mean you can’t get access to the same level of marketing experience and search engine optimization talent you would expect to find only in the “Big City.”

David Pearce is the president of Responsible Marketing Consulting Services.  David founded Responsible Marketing in 2006 to provide small business owners with marketing services and support to help grow their businesses. David grew up in the North Country and after nearly 20 years of traveling the country in pursuit of knowledge and experience, returned to his North Country roots.

Prior to founding Responsible Marketing, David served as the director of sales and marketing for Imperial Optical (located in Champlain, NY), North America’s leading independent contact lens distributor, where he was responsible for growing Imperial’s eyecare practitioner base and helping independent optometrists more effectively market their practices, grow their patient base and promote the use of contact lenses.

Prior to Imperial Optical, David was a senior account manager for Edward Howard & Co. (located in Cleveland, OH), one of the oldest, largest and most respected PR firms in Ohio. While at Edward Howard, David was awarded the company's prestigious Eddie Award for "Most Billable Hours" in addition to several national awards for corporate communications (public company annual report and employee newsletters) and website development. David worked on numerous national client accounts including Oglebay Norton (investor relations, website development, Chapter 11/crisis communications), Kidde (marketing communications), Invacare (product recall/crisis management), FirstMerit Banks (marketing communications), United Community Financial (investor relations), Imperial Wallcoverings (Chapter 11/crisis communications), BP (events management), Sealy (investor relation and marketing communications) and WCI Steel (Chapter 11/crisis management). 

David's 25 years of diverse industry experience also includes director of Internet marketing for Carson City-NV-based Contact Lens King, manager of investor targeting for Westport, CT-based Rivel Research Group (survey research and investor relations consulting), lead credit analysts for Norwalk, CT-based CarLoanCo, stock broker (series 7 & 63) for New York City-based GKN Securities, automotive F&I manager for Syracuse, NY-based Dealer Marketing Services, hotel restaurant front-end manager for Syracuse, NY-based Tavern@1060, a commissioned infantry officer in the US Army, an NCO in the US Army's Military Intelligence Corp, and an R&D associate for Plattsburgh, NY-based Imperial Wallcoverings.

David is an accomplished author and lecturer with more than 35 published articles appearing in 20/20, Optometric Management, New OD, Contact Lens Spectrum, Ophthalmology Times, OptiCourier, EyeCare Professional, Crain's Cleveland, Rock Products and numerous marketing seminars including courses for The Massachusetts Optometric Society, Vision Source, SECO 2008, the 2008 ABO/NCLE National Education Conference, and ResMark's Internet Marketing Boot Camp. 

David received a BA in Liberal Arts from Syracuse University, was an honor graduate of the US Army Infantry Officer Basic Course, and has attended Search Engine Strategies and Internet Retailer's Website Design and Usability conferences. Additionally, he achieved Professional Search Engine Marketer certification from WEB CEO University.
