AuSable River Campsite had a website that was originally done in 2002. The old website lacked any defined navigation and a consistent design structure throughout the site. Back when the website was originally done, little attention was paid to search engine optimization. The home page was titled "AuSable River Campsite" and search referrals that included "AuSable River" accounted for approximately 80% of the organic search referrals.
Responsible Marketing created the new site with a uniform design structure that included both side and bottom navigation, and a consistent design layout throughout the website. New copy was written by ResMark and new photographs were taken of the campground to update the look of the website. Much attention was paid to optimize the website to include a broader spectrum of related keywords such as: "New York RV Parks," "Adirondack RV Park & Campgrounds," "Adirondack/New York Cabin and Camper Rentals" as well as "Rent a Cabin/Camper in the Adirondacks/New York."
Comparing 2009 to 2010, website visits increased 35%, form submissions increased by 250% and online reservations, in terms of both quantity and revenue, doubled. ResMark conducted several email marketing campaigns to drive early responders to make online reservations for the May-June 2010 timeframe, with one custom written e-newsletter that went out in May.
